Transformation Ministries International of Atlanta (TMI) was birthed in early 2008 by Pastors Dr. Bruce Aaron Beard and Rev. Gardenia E. Beard who were at that time serving as Pastor and First Lady of Transformation Ministries First Baptist Church in Charlottesville, VA.  Although initially intended to be an extension of the ministry in Charlottesville, TMI ended up becoming a separate entity.

Prior to the inaugural service which was held in September 2008, Pastor and First Lady Beard, along with 11 current and former members of the church in Charlottesville pulled up roots and relocated to Atlanta, GA to be a part of the new ministry.  Then on September 7, 2008, TMI held its first “official” worship service at the Wingate by Wyndham Hotel in Fairburn, GA.  While at that location, much of the infrastructure of the ministry was built.  Also in December of that year, TMI hosted a very successful Community-Wide Career Power Symposium.

The year 2009 was a very eventful year in the life of our ministry as well.  TMI began having our weekly Living Word Bible Studies that January; many of our in-house ministries were established to include Transforming Women In Christ (TWIC), TMI’s Women’s Ministry; TMI, in conjunction with The Joseph Alliance, hosted our first overseas Missions Trip to Liberia in Africa; and the Pastor and members of TMI were invited to be guests on TBN Live in Atlanta.  In November 2009, TMI relocated to our current location at 1950 Highway 85 in Jonesboro, GA.

Since being in our current location, TMI has been active in ministering to the community and beyond.   TMI has been involved in ministries that include several Outreach Projects and Events to support victims of natural disasters; Annual Community Outreach & Health Fairs; Women’s Forums that focus on issues specific to women; various Youth Focused Projects and Events; volunteer services at local nursing homes; and through our ministry’s goal of tithing back into the community, we have provided monetary support to local, national and international outreach ministries to help the homeless, assist victims of sex trafficking, support overseas missionaries, and many other causes too numerous to mention.  TMI also had a second oversees Mission Trip to Kenya during this period.  In addition, this year, TMI partnered with another local ministry to participate in a monthly Food Distribution program.

TMI is blessed to have a group of TMI-affiliated “sister” churches in Georgia and other states.  With all of our successes and challenges over these past years, TMI continues to move forward in our God-given Mission, which is: “Transforming the Believer, To Transform the Church, To Transform the World”.  To God be the glory for the great things He has done!
